Abstract
The digital transformation of the economy at the state and regional levels is currently a natural process of the evolutionary development of society. Therefore, today the main powerful impetus for activating the potential of the regions and achieving the principles of sustainable development is the digitalization of the economy. This requires a more detailed study of the role of digitalization in the development of regions, as well as the identification of mechanisms that make it possible to use digital transformation to strengthen the region's competitive advantages at the national and international levels. The method of content analysis of available sources was used in the study. The main positive and negative factors influencing the digital transformation of the region are summarized. The characteristics and features of the regulatory and legal support of the digital transformation of the region are given. An algorithm for the development and implementation of a digital transformation strategy for the region is proposed. The study showed that the implementation of the region's digital transformation strategy is changing not only the quality of public services, but also the way citizens, businesses and the state interact. This algorithm can be used by state and regional authorities when forming a strategy for the digital transformation of the region.
