Abstract
The article examines in detail the successful experience of state support for small and medium-sized businesses in the Moscow region and its impact on the growth of registered SMEs in the region. The stages of development of state support for small and medium-sized businesses in the Moscow region are highlighted, and data on the amount of allocated subsidies from 2016 to 2023 is provided. To achieve the set scientific task of forming the stages of formation and development of state support for small and medium-sized businesses in the Moscow region, statistical data from the Federal Tax Service, as well as information provided by the Ministry of Investment and Innovation of the Moscow Region, were used. To achieve the scientific task of shaping the stages of formation and development of state support for small and medium-sized businesses in the Moscow region, official data were used, namely statistics from the Federal Tax Service and relevant information provided by the Ministry of Investment and Innovation of the Moscow Region. These studies allow us to analyze how important government support for business is in the current economic situation in Russia. The main indicator of the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in the article is the number of newly registered SMEs. The study demonstrates a direct relationship between the quality of business support provided by regional authorities and the growth in the number of SMEs. In addition, the main success factors of regional support are formulated, which can be considered a positive example for the implementation of the strategic, state task of supporting small and medium-sized enterprises in other regions. It should be noted that the authors chose 2007 as the starting point for the historical development of modern small and medium-sized businesses. The rationale for this is the fact that in the year mentioned above, for the first time in Russian history, the official concept of SMEs was fixed at the legislative level. The study illustrates how small and medium-sized businesses have changed over the past 17 years. The issues related to the development of the system of state support for SMEs in the Moscow region are considered.
