The article presents a general analysis of the market from the point of view of enterprises of the flour and cereals industry of the Chuvash Republic (VFD). Grain production is considered as the basis of the entire agro-industrial complex of the Russian Federation and as the largest sub-sector of agriculture, the development of which largely determines the country's food security and the population's food supply. The article outlines the environmental safety of flour milling and provides a brief historical background of the industry's development. The export potential is revealed and a brief description of state regulation using modern digitalization tools is given - FGIS «Grain». Statistical data on production and sales by types of major grain crops and exporting countries are provided. The main problems in terms of reducing the production, processing and sale of rye are identified.
