In the article, the author empirically reveals the imbalances of the modern market transformation of the wholesale and retail links in the market supply system. The scientific and practical value of the analysis carried out in the article consists in expanding theoretical ideas regarding the transformation of the logistics system of commodity exchange in the context of changing the competition model in the retail link, associated with further consolidation of pharmacy retail in the context of the flow of part of the demand to the online channel and marketplaces. The change in the competition model and the redistribution of demand allow the author to sharpen the problem of organizational asymmetry in distribution logistics, the solution of which requires the development of strategies for market adaptation of the wholesale and retail links of the chain, corresponding to the complex processes of vertical and horizontal interaction in the pharmaceutical market.
