Ensuring the economic growth of any territory (state, district, region) is possible by increasing such indicators as its competitiveness and labor productivity. An important role in this is played by the creation of favorable conditions for effective state management of spatial development of territories (states, districts, regions), which determines the proportions of territories in the national economy. Currently, there are significant changes in the proportions of the economies of the regions. The analysis of these changes involves the study of the prerequisites and factors that led to them. The main prerequisites for these changes include weak links between the elements, the lack of an effective mechanism for their management; changes in the geopolitical position of the country, principles and laws of economic development; environmental conditions prevailing in certain regions; the impact of globalization processes on the structure of their economy. The consequence of the influence of these prerequisites on the economy of individual regions is the emergence of factors that directly change their structural proportionality.
