Abstract
The purpose of the study is to substantiate the strategic directions of state support for small and medium-sized businesses. The study was carried out using general scientific methods, including the analysis of author's works and the comparison of data from official statistics of the Russian Federation and the Donetsk People's Republic. In the course of this study, the activities of small and medium–sized businesses of the Donetsk People's Republic for 2023-2024 were analyzed, the directions and types of state support for business enterprises were substantiated.
