Abstract
The article presents the authors’ interpretation of the role of German philosophy in shaping Russian statehood. It examines the evolution of key philosophical ideas from the Reformation to the early twentieth century and their reinterpretation within Russian thought. The influence of Leibniz, Kant, Fichte, Hegel, Schelling, Feuerbach, Marx, Engels, and Spengler on the development of concepts of law, morality, personal freedom, nationality, and state purpose is analyzed. The connection between philosophical doctrines and Russian practices of state-building, education, legal order, and civilizational identity is revealed. The authors argue that German philosophy served as an intellectual mediator between theology, rationalism, and political reality, helping to shape a model that combines individual liberty with social solidarity and providing the theoretical foundation of the modern civilizational approach.
