ACTIVITIES OF CUSTOMS AUTHORITIES IN ENSURING ENVIRONMENTAL SAFETY IN THE RUSSIAN FEDERATION

Abstract

The functions of ensuring the environmental safety of the Russian Federation are assigned to state authorities, including customs authorities. In particular, goods and vehicles transported across the customs border may carry various types of bioagents, which may have a negative impact on the environmental safety of the territory of Russia. In this regard, the role of customs authorities is significant in ensuring environmental safety. The scientific article reveals the legal regulation of the activities of customs authorities in ensuring environmental safety. The authors concluded that the legislative disadvantage is the underestimation of the role of customs authorities as a subject of environmental protection. The article formulates and substantiates possible ways to improve the legal regulation of the status and improve the activities of customs authorities in order to ensure environmental safety more effectively.
