Abstract

The article is devoted to the study of the role of sociological expertise as a tool for diagnosing the results of the implementation of foreign economic policy (FEP). In the context of globalization and the increasing interdependence of economies, there is an increasing need for a comprehensive assessment of the effectiveness of foreign economic policy that goes beyond traditional economic indicators. The authors substantiate the methodological value of sociological expertise, combining quantitative and qualitative methods of analysis, including expert surveys, content analysis. Special attention is paid to its predictive potential in identifying latent socio-economic effects of the FEP. Using the example of a study of the opinion of the business community of the Donetsk People’s Republic (2023-2024), the practical application of sociological expertise is demonstrated. The article analyzes the key problems faced by the subjects of foreign economic activity, including regulatory barriers, tax burden and insufficient protection of property rights. The survey results revealed a skeptical attitude of business towards the effectiveness of public policy and its willingness to participate in a public discussion of reforms. The study confirms the hypothesis that it is necessary to take into account the reaction of target groups when developing FEP. Sociological expertise is presented as a critically important tool for making managerial decisions, ensuring a balance between economic feasibility and social acceptability of policy.
